How to tip when playing poker

There is no doubt that poker has passed through its infancy phase and has already captured the minds of many. Now there is an explosion in popularity. And against this background, hundreds, if not thousands, are eager to test what they have learned by playing in online casinos. However, these players do not know anything about tipping the dealer, although this is a very important point for the game.

Being a dealer in a casino poker game is not the highest paying job. In some casinos, they earn less than the waiters serving cocktails. Therefore, only generous customers can fill this gap. Typically, casinos allow the dealer to keep the tip, although they do take it into account for tax purposes.

A good rule of thumb is to tip the winning pot, say one to five chips, depending on the size of the pot. As for other players, they can choose to tip the dealer: either only when he changes, or at the end of their stay at the table. Players usually agree on this at the beginning of the game. This may not be very fair for the particular dealer receiving the tip, because he may no longer be at the table when the player leaves, or vice versa.

In tournaments, a slightly different problem arises. Tipping cannot be given during play because tournament chips have no value outside the table. All players have paid an entry fee to play, and the casino stipulates how much money goes into the prize pool and how much the poker rooms keep for themselves.

And disappointingly few tournament players remember dealers.

Tipping is not required. This is a voluntary desire to show the dealer how you, in monetary terms, evaluate his qualifications, fair play, and even as a person, because dealers can be very courteous, with a sense of humor, and pleasant in all respects.

Always remember that most players who are good at poker have a good memory. And all dealers, without exception, have an even better memory.
